Interested in Volunteering?

Volunteers are a critical component to making this individualized education possible for each student. We have weekly, monthly, and occasional volunteer opportunities for all ages and groups! Our current volunteer opportunities are listed below. To get updates on all of our needs, follow us on social media or email abbie@rivertreeacademy.org.

"The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’"

– Matthew 25:40

Volunteers are the heartbeat behind Rivertree Academy! Since our first school year, volunteers have filled our halls and hearts through their commitment to students in Lake Como. We would love to have you join us as we educate our students to learn well, love well, work well, and lead well.

CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

AFTER SCHOOL CLUB LEADERS

We are looking for volunteers to help lead our after-school enrichment clubs. This is a great opportunity to share a special interest of yours with our students. These clubs can be almost anything, such as Bible, sports, the arts, praise dance, STEM, Legos, nature, health, etc. These clubs would take place during our after-school program which runs every weekday from 3:45pm-6pm. This is a great opportunity for high school and college students!

DAILY HELPERS

We have many daily opportunities to support our students and staff at Rivertree Academy. The following are just a few examples:

Classroom Helpers - assist teachers with lessons, one on one time with students who need extra assistance, organizational tasks, etc.

Reading Buddies - one-on-one or small group reading time with students

Math Buddies - help students with math lessons, play math-geared games

Science Buddies - help students with science lessons, play science-geared games

Lunch/Recess Helpers - help distribute lunches, monitor students during lunch and recess, assist with lunch clean up

STUDENT MENTORS

Get paired with a student to encourage and support them throughout the school year! Our Mentor Friday program is one Friday per month from 1:30-3pm with guided activities and free time built in. The goal of mentoring is for you to build a relationship with your mentee and be an extra source of encouragement. We are especially in need of male mentors each year.

After completing three simple steps, you can begin volunteering with our students!

  1. Email our Volunteer Coordinator at abbie@rivertreeacademy.org with your interest or questions,

  2. Complete a background check, and

  3. Complete the Ministry Safe video training.

"Serving as a classroom volunteer at Rivertree Academy over the past five years has truly been a privilege. I was able to spend time with a class from their first grade year through their fifth grade graduation last spring, and along the way I watched them learn, develop confidence, become leaders, and encourage one another. I have been blessed far beyond any contribution I may have made while serving in the classroom. I am thankful for Rivertree and that I get to be a small part of this outstanding school community."

-CHRISTINA JOHNSON, VOLUNTEER
